Chronicle of Time and Elegance

Amid the gentle hills of Normandy, where mist rises through ancient forests and meadows drift toward the sea, stands Noam Normandy, a château whose walls have embraced centuries of grace and transformation. Each stone carries the whisper of another era, each detail reveals the refinement and quiet strength of those who once shaped its story.

The story begins in 1596, when Jacques de Nollent acquired a fief in the heart of the Pays d’Auge and began the construction of a grand residence surrounded by water. The first tower rose at the dawn of the seventeenth century, crowned with elegant battlements and marked by the ambition of a larger architectural vision. This early structure, square and solid, was conceived as the cornerstone of an estate that would evolve over generations, embodying the ideals of strength and harmony that defined the period.

In 1729, Françoise de Nollent married Henri d’Aguessau, son of the Chancellor of France and royal advisor. Their union brought together vast lands stretching from Saint-André to Trouville and marked a new chapter of prosperity. During this time, the central body of the château was completed, its balanced façade adorned with the coats of arms of both families. The new road to Trouville was also built, linking the estate to the sea and shaping the geography of the region. The residence became a place of dialogue and elegance, where the rhythm of French classicism met the quiet poetry of the Norman countryside.

A century later, the château entered a final stage of transformation. Adrien Gillotin, a textile industrialist, completed the third wing, bringing symmetry and lightness to the entire structure. The building reflected the spirit of its age: refined yet grounded, noble yet serene. Gardens opened toward the ponds, and the stone façade mirrored upon the water created the impression of a living tableau where nature and architecture moved in perfect accord.

Through the passing of time, the château has carried the imprint of history with grace. During the Second World War, it became the headquarters of a German command before being turned into a field hospital by the 224th Parachute Airborne Field Ambulance. Its rooms, once filled with aristocratic life, were transformed into spaces of care and resilience, preserving the dignity of all who crossed its threshold.

Today, under the care of Noam, the château enters a new era devoted to hospitality and celebration. Its heritage breathes through every detail while its atmosphere invites serenity and belonging. Within its walls, guests experience the grace of French art de vivre through discreet service, generous spaces, and an intimacy that feels like home. Mornings unfold with light cascading through tall windows, afternoons invite quiet reading by the fire or walks in the park surrounded by ancient trees.

Beyond the gates, Normandy reveals its gentle richness. The shores of Deauville and Trouville glow under the soft northern light, while the countryside invites exploration through winding paths and peaceful villages. Each encounter reveals the soul of the region, marked by authenticity, generosity, and calm.

At Noam Normandy, every stay feels like a dialogue between past and present. The château embodies a form of hospitality where grace meets truth and where time flows with quiet harmony.
